I am trying to add MIBs to routers.cgi. My vendor supplied me with the .txt files. I placed them in the mibs directory and added the location of the device to the myrouters.txt file.
I cannot build a ok file, thus, nothing shows up in the web interface. I am sure it is painfully obvious, but what am I missing here ?

I have been monitoring several routers and switches ( all Cisco except one Adtran ) and they all worked. I see examples of the ability to monitor all sorts of things other than bandwidth. The device I have the MIBs for is a Load Balancer.

Is there a How to section, etc. on how to add different MIBs and build cfg files so that they can be graphed by RRD?

I got a little further, I ws able to create a cfg and an ok file, but the cfg file just has the devices name and contact info, while the ok file is empty.

Anybody ?

The OK file will usually be empty if you arent graphing interfaces. It's just used as a cache for mapping interface names to numbers.

You can always specify the thing for MRTG to retrieve using just the OID and then you dont even need the MIB. The MIB is only used to map descriptive counter names to numberic OIDs. See the MRTG documentation on http://www.mrtg.org for lots of information.

routers2 will graph anything that has an RRD file and a MRTG .cfg file. It doesnt use MIBs at all.

But specific to your application, where would I load the OID ?

Meaning, the .my files they gave me have several OIDs, and I am beginning to think the updatemyrouters.xtx bat file is only for ints?

So, I need an alternate way of loading this info.

routers.cgi does not use MIB files at all, so you dont load them anywhere.

MRTG can use MIBs, check the MRTG documentation at http://www.mrtg.org for details on how to specify their location in the .cfg file.
