| Post subject: | Existing cfg and rrd files re-use |
Hello, We are installed routers2.cgi on prototype server for an examination during few months So, routers2.cgi are installing on final server (an other) and we want to re-use cfg files and rrd files. Routers2.cgi don't detect the cfg files (and rrd files) placed on the final server (tree structure is OK) the only detected files are those configured with : perl cfgmaker.... How to re-use the files already created so that routers2.cgi take them.(The same thing for rrd files) ???? we won't to re-create files already existing!! we want to re-use database!! regards sorry for the bad english Thx |

routers.cgi will have no problems with the old .cfg files, but you need to tell it where to find them. Look in the routers2.conf and use the cfgpath and cfgfiles directives to tell it where to find them. You can use wildcards in the cfgfiles directive. The old .rrd files will work ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE SAME ARCHITECTURE. So, as long as you've moved from an i386 linux to an i386 linux, or from windows to windows, you're OK. If youve moved from Windows to linux or vice-versa, you will have to dump the .rrd files to text and reload them. Put them in the directory configured in the MRTG .cfg files (the workdir) and it will be OK. |
